The problem

Who is our app for?

Our app is designed for children who struggle with various conditions and disorders that make verbal communication difficult. These include:

Aphasia

Aphasia is a language disorder that can occur due to brain damage, often as a result of a stroke or injury. Children with aphasia may have difficulty speaking, understanding, reading, and writing. Our app helps them express their needs and thoughts through pictures and pictograms.

Apraxia

Apraxia is a neurological disorder that affects the ability to perform purposeful movements, including those related to speech. Children with apraxia often have trouble pronouncing sounds and words, even though they understand language. Our app provides them with an alternative way to communicate that doesn’t require speaking.

Autism

Autism is a developmental disorder that can affect communication and social interaction. Many children with autism have difficulty expressing themselves verbally, and some may not speak at all. Our app uses pictures and symbols, which are often better understood by children with autism, making it easier for them to communicate with others.

Cerebral Palsy

Cerebral palsy is a group of disorders that affect movement, posture, and coordination. Some children with cerebral palsy may have difficulty speaking due to challenges controlling the muscles responsible for speech. Our app provides them with an alternative form of communication tailored to their needs and abilities.

Selective Mutism

Selective mutism is an anxiety disorder in which a child does not speak in certain situations, even though they are able to speak and do so freely in other circumstances. Our app can be helpful for children with selective mutism, providing them with an additional tool for communication in situations where they feel anxious about speaking.

Complex and Combined Disorders

Complex and combined disorders are multifaceted developmental problems that affect multiple areas of a child’s functioning, including communication. Children with these disorders often experience difficulties with verbal communication, as well as understanding and using body language or expressing emotions. Our app, through the use of pictures and pictograms, can be a valuable support for their communication and expression of needs.

In addition to the conditions mentioned above, our app can be beneficial for children with other disorders that affect communication, such as Down syndrome, Rett syndrome, or dysarthria. We understand that every child is unique and has their own communication needs. Therefore, our app is designed to be customizable to individual preferences and abilities.

Our goal is to provide children with speech difficulties with a tool that gives them greater independence and confidence in communicating with their surroundings. We believe that every child deserves to be heard and understood, regardless of the challenges they face.
